Parameters
Hand stretch film parameters.
We give the stretch as a working value for wrapping by hand. The net weight covers the film only, without the core. We updated the table on 19 October 2026.
| Type | Thickness | Width | Stretch | Colours | Net film weight | Core |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hand | 10–30 (10 · 12 · 15 · 17 · 20 · 23 · 30) µm | 450 / 500 mm | 180% | 9 colours (transparent · black · white · transparent blue · opaque blue · green · red · yellow · orange) | 1–3 kg | 200–800 (200 · 250 · 300 · 350 · 400 · 500 · 700 · 800) g |
| Hand coreless | 10–30 (10 · 12 · 15 · 17 · 20 · 23 · 30) µm | 450 / 500 mm | 180% | 9 colours (transparent · black · white · transparent blue · opaque blue · green · red · yellow · orange) | 1–3 kg | none |
| We also produce film to specifications not listed in the table. Give us the thickness, width and film weight you need, and the sales department will reply whether we can produce it. Describe your specification | ||||||
Selection
We match the film thickness to the load.
The film thickness depends on the weight and shape of the load, and the roll weight on how many pallets you wrap a day. Below we give thicknesses for three typical loads.
Even and light pallets
The cartons stand in an even column and have no protruding edges. Thin film is enough for such a load.
10–15 µmMixed pallets
The goods have different heights and sharp corners that puncture thin film on the first wrap. For such pallets, we select thicker film.
20–23 µmHeavy loads and long routes
A heavy load shifts during transport, so the film has to hold it all the way.
30 µm
If you wrap a different load, describe it and we will select the thickness.
Benefits
What do you gain?
We produce hand stretch film in standard thicknesses. Four things make the difference.
A roll in the weight you need
You choose the roll weight yourself, because we produce the cores in-house.
Core or no core
We supply the film on a 200–800 g core or without a core, so no cardboard is left to sort once it is used up.
The same film in every delivery
We always source raw materials to the same specification, and we measure the film thickness in every batch.
Film from stock
We keep stock of your item in our warehouse and deliver it with our own transport according to your schedule.

Transport
We deliver film with our own fleet.
We deliver film and cores with our own lorries, so we are responsible for the delivery date and the condition of the load ourselves. Stock of your item waits in our warehouse, and further deliveries go out according to your schedule.
Changing supplier
Before you change your film supplier.
These are the questions we hear most often before a first order.
What if the film does not work on my pallets?
We only start the series after you confirm the test batch. So you do not order pallets of film that you have not first checked on your own pallets.
What does the price depend on?
On the thickness, roll weight, on-core or coreless version, colour and monthly consumption. We prepare the quote once we receive this data, and you can agree anything missing with the sales department.
When will the first delivery arrive?
We give the date of the first delivery together with the quote. Further deliveries go out from the stock of your item in our warehouse, according to your schedule.
I need a few pieces straight away.
You can buy smaller quantities straight away in our online shop, with dispatch within 24 h and on the same terms as with your account manager.
The sales department will contact you, agree the thickness and roll weight, and then prepare a test batch.
Manufacturer
The same hand stretch film in every delivery.
We source raw materials from leading European suppliers, always to the same specification. Questions
Questions about hand stretch film.
Which stretch film thickness should you choose for hand wrapping?
For light, even pallets, 10 to 15 µm is enough. For mixed pallets and loads with sharp edges, we select 20 to 30 µm. The most commonly chosen thickness is 23 µm, because it suits most loads. We produce seven thicknesses and match them to the weight and shape of the load.
Which hand stretch film roll weight should you choose?
We agree the roll weight and length when you order, because we produce the cores ourselves in eight grammages. A lighter roll puts less strain on the arm when wrapping. A heavier one is changed less often, so you have fewer breaks in work. When selecting, we take both into account, as well as the number of pallets you wrap a day.
What is the difference between the roll and the metres after stretching?
The roll is the physical length of film on a core or without one. The metres after stretching are the length of film that ends up on the pallets, because the film extends during wrapping. By hand you stretch the film less than a stretch wrapper does, which is why you will wrap fewer pallets from the same roll than on a machine.
What is the difference between gross weight and film weight?
The gross weight covers the film together with the core, while in the table we give the weight of the film alone. The core weighs 200 to 800 g depending on the roll. When comparing offers, compare the film weight, because only the film ends up on the pallet.
Is hand stretch film available in colours?
Yes, we produce it in nine colours: transparent, black, white, transparent blue, opaque blue, green, red, yellow and orange. Black film hides the load from the view of outsiders. Coloured film helps separate pallets by batch or route.
What is coreless film and when should you choose it?
Coreless is film without a core in the middle of the roll. Once it is used up, there is no cardboard left to sort and dispose of. It is chosen by companies that are reducing waste or have no room to store it.
